‘Everything is poetry!’ So claimed the artist, poet and cultural activist Ugo Carrega, who from the 1970s onwards produced artistic image-text contributions, collected them from others and composed them into collective poems and stories in labelled boxes. The rich and poetic view of the world and the ‘Verbo-Visuale’ movement that has been emerging since the 1950s is revealed by filling further ‘Poetry in a Box’ and encountering Carrega’s work!
