Museion

For three Thursdays in July the company presents three dance performances in different scenarios inside and outside Museion, in dialogue with Luca Trevisani’s video, projected on the medial façade.

The work, conceived for the occasion, is inspired by the novel by the French writer Michel Tournier «Friday or the Limbo of the Pacific», which in turn rereads the famous novel “Robinson Crusoe” by Defoe. If in Defoe Robinson Crusoe was in fact the white hero who civilizes the poor savage Friday, in Tournier’s reading the perspective is reversed. It is in fact Friday who plays a main role and guides Crusoe towards a complete regression to the “natural” state, and therefore to an authentic and primitive existential dimension.

The encounter with the other and the “explosion” of consolidated boundaries, proposed by Tournier’s work, also inspire the work of mk and Trevisani. Here the dialogue between art and dance, played on the distance between images and bodies in movement, invites us to consider the encounter with the other as a space of crossing, a border area and at the same time the construction of a world.

For the inauguration, on Thursday 10 July, an artist talk will take place with Luca Trevisani and Michele Di Stefano at 9pm. The screening of Luca Trevisani’s video will take place from 10pm to midnight; mk’s performance takes place at 10.30 pm

Other appointments:
Thursday 17 and 24 July: screening from 10.00pm to 12.00am, performance at 11.00pm
Thursday 31 July only the screening will take place from 10.00 pm to 12.00 am
