The Media Façade series “Pas de deux”
“Pas de deux” is the name of the 2016 series on the media façade, a duet of images and sound that creates a performance in public space.
In ballet the pas de deux is a dance performed by two technically superior dancers separately from the rest of the corps de ballet. The 2016 series of screenings on the media façade, from June to September, forges a special dialogue between images and music. The façade will display past video works by visual artists set to new pieces of music written for the occasion by contemporary composers and played live.
The August screening on the media façade, curated by Frida Carazzato, presents videos by Bruno Munari and Marcello Piccardo set to music by Stefano Bernardi. A slow-mo somersault, the pure colours of light broken down, and watching people on an escalator… these are the themes tackled in the four experimental works of the past shown on the media façade in August, accompanied by music rewritten and performed for the occasion by Stefano Bernardi.
