The exhibition in the project room was part of a co-project with Kunsthalle Erfurt (als wenn ich hier geboren und erzogen wäre - “…as if I’d been born and brought up here…”).
The titles of the two parts of the project formed a phrase („Ich lasse mir’s gefallen, als wenn ich hier geboren und erzogen wäre und nun von einer Grönlandsfahrt, von einem Walfischfang zurückkäme“ – „I like it as much as if I’d been born and brought up here, and were coming back from a whale-catching expedition in Greenland”), which is taken from the chapter „Von Brenner bis Verona” – “From Brenner to Verona”“ in the book „Italienischen Reise – “Italian Trip”“ by Johann Wolfgang Goethe.
Gabriela Oberkofler (1975, Bolzano) lives and works in Stuttgart. She studied at the University of Visual Arts in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, at the Fachhochschule für Kunsttherapie in Nürtingen and at the Staatlichen Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Stuttgart.
