Rainer Gamsjäger

Decomposition

Media Façade
20.—23.06.2013

Rainer Gamsjäger (Bad Ischl, 1974) presents the unreleased video Decomposition – a purified flow of information and pixels, a slow movement of lines that form a helix and become straight again.

The images are the result of shooting around a skull (Vanitas) and a still life, objects used several times in the history of painting. The artist thus analyzes video as an expressive means and as a technology capable of reproducing plasticity, which has always represented one of the challenges of painting.

For Desiring the real Museion presents two new projects in the spaces of the Project Room, exhibited in rotation. It begins with the installation “Space of Phases” by the artist Judith Fegerl (from 22/06 to 28/07), followed by a project by Leopold Kessler (from 9/08 to 22/09). The focus on the protagonists of young Austrian art is completed by the video “Decomposition” created by Rainer Gamsjäger for the media façade of Museion.

Projections:
20, 21 June and 23 July from 10.00pm to 12.00am
