The 2017 guest curator at Museion, Nicolò Degiorgis, is among the seven winners of the competition promoted by the DGAAP – General Directorate of Contemporary Art and Architecture and Urban Suburbs of the MiBACT, aimed at promoting Italian contemporary art at an international level.

Over 50 projects participated in the Italian Council, which were selected by an examining commission made up of five high-profile members: Federica Galloni, General Director of DGAAP and President of the Commission; Carlos Basualdo, Senior Curator of Contemporary Art at the Philadelphia Museum of Art; Stefano Baia Curioni, Associate Professor of Economic History at Bocconi University in Milan; Maria Grazia Messina, art historian, essayist and professor of History of Contemporary Art at the University of Florence; Alberto Salvadori, Director of the OAC Fondazione Cr Firenze.

The Commission wanted to reward and therefore finance Degiorgis’ residency project at the Ecole Supérieure d’Art et de Design in Grenoble, structured in collaboration with Museion. This project will be presented in spring 2018 and will become part of the Museion Collection as a loan.

Among the winners we also highlight Danilo Correale, protagonist at Museion in 2015 during the series of projections on the media façade entitled Posthypnotic.
