Nanjing International Art Festival - partecipating artists announced

315 artists have now been selected for the Nanjing International Art Festival in China. Museion will be presenting 25 works from its collection.

This year the annual event takes place from 12 November 2016 to 12 February 2017 in the capital of the Jiangsu region of China. “HISTORICODE: Scarcity and Supply” is title of the exhibition hosted in the New Baijia Lake Museum, a former residential and commercial space now repurposed as an exhibition venue, research centre and depot.

The Festival is curated by Lu Peng and co-curated by Letizia Ragaglia, Director of Museion. The participating artists were selected together with an International Committee, which includes Heidi Ballet (Belgium), Du Xiyun (China), Fu Xiaodong (China), Katie Geha (United States), Gu Chengfeng (China), He Guiyan (China), Lee Janguk (South Korea), Carol Yinghua Lu (China) and Nathalie Boseul Shin (South Korea).

The Bolzano Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art will present works from its own collection by the following artists: Allora & Calzadilla (Philippines, Cuba); Miroslaw Balka (Poland); Joseph Beuys (Germany); Rossella Biscotti (Italy); Mirceal Cantor (Romania); Claire Fontaine (France, founded in 2004); Liu Ding (China); Öyvind Fahlström; Goldschmied & Chiari (Italy); Teresa Margolles (Mexico); Gordon Matta-Clark; Philipp Messner (South Tyrol, Italy); Santu Mofokeng (South Africa); Zanele Muholi (South Africa); Deimantas Narkevicius (Lithuania); Maciej Toporowicz (Poland); Bernar Venet (France); Luca Vitone (Italy); Walid Raad/The Atlas Group (Lebanon).
