Short scenes from love, war or adventure films alternate with the most diverse news clips and images that recall traditional Italy: players of popular music, processions and bells. In a short scene a thumb presses a button - a reference to the fear, in those years, of a nuclear war.

Volerà ‘70 is a work of cinepoetry, that is, a poem created with the film’s own means. This technique aims at a decisive break with the conventional aesthetics of the Hollywood-style narrative film. Deconstructing and recomposing images and texts taken from the media into collages is a typical procedure of visual poetry and of the Gruppo ‘70, of which the authors of this work are the main exponents. This is how works of criticism of contemporary society and its language are born.
