Edizioni Francesco Conz

Francesco Conz, who passed away a few years ago, donated several of his works to Museion which only partially tell of his passion, dedication and attention to artistic productions starting from the 1950s. Visual and concrete poetry, Fluxus and Viennese Actionism, Conz’s collection embraces the international scene, but first of all it is a direct witness to the demolition of any distinction between art and life, a position adopted above all by the artists of the Fluxus movement. These five canvases - by Philip Corner, John Giorno, Robert Lax, Ann Noël and Emmet Williams - are a selection from those that the collector decided to create. In fact, his activity was not limited only to collecting, but he also hosted artists who he supported and loved at his home and produced their works and books. The canvases presented here are by artists of American and English nationality who worked within the Fluxus movement where experimentation and the use of different languages - sound, visual, theatrical and literary - and expressive forms represented a novelty for the era.

The story of Francesco Conz meets that of another important collector who in Italy in those years was embarking on another adventure in the city of Milan, Paolo della Grazia, with the Archivio di Nuova Scripture.
