From 12 November 2016 to 12 February 2017, Museion will be taking part in “The Nanjing International Art Festival (NJIAF)”, the annual art event in the capital of the Jangsu region.

Now in its third year, the Festival was conceived and is curated by Lü Peng, accompanied this year by the Director of Museion Letizia Ragaglia in the role of co-curator. Featuring more than 800 works by 400 artists, the theme is HistoriCode: Scarcity and Supply.

The Festival is held in the New Baijia Lake Museum, a four-storey commercial building converted for the purpose. This new venue not only offers exhibition space but also a research centre and archive, with a total surface area of more than 20,000 square metres. This year’s event will be aiming to build on the success of past editions, which attracted more than 200,000 visitors.

Supporting the initiative is an international curatorial committee, including: Lee Janguk (South Korea), Katie Geha (United States), Heidi Ballet (Germany), Nathalie Boseul Shin (South Korea), Gu Chengfeng (China), He Guiyan (China), Fu Xiaodong (China), Du Xiyun (China) and Carol Yinghua Lu (China).
